Medical & Dental Insurance:


Medical: Coverage begins the first of the following month after 30 days of employment. You have the choice of Blue Cross Blue Shield or Aetna for health coverage which includes preventative care and a prescription drug plan. You also have your choice of plan types: traditional health insurance or a high deductible health plan.

Dental: Delta Dental provides the dental coverage. Diagnostic and preventative services are not subject to the deductible. Orthodontia coverage is also available.

Full time and part time employees are eligible for medical and dental insurance.

Vision Insurance:


This offers employees and their dependents coverage towards contacts or glasses.

Eligibility: Full time and part time employees are eligible to sign up for this coverage. Coverage begins the first of the following month after 30 days of employment.

Retirement:


KPERS (Kansas Public Employee Retirement System) is our main retirement plan. For full time and part time employees, 6% of each employee's gross wages goes towards their KPERS account. KPERS provides the retirement benefit, a basic life insurance of 150% of an employee's average annual salary and a long term disability plan.

Eligibility: Full time and part time employees. Participation in KPERS begins on an employee's first day.

Waddell and Reed: Employees are also offered voluntary retirement benefit options through Waddell & Reed (Roth IRA & Deferred Comp Plans).

Eligibility: Full time and part time employees. Contributions begin the first of the following month after 30 days of employment.

Life Insurance:


CIGNA: GCMC provides $25,000 term life coverage, free of charge, for full time employees. Dependent coverage is available at the employee's expense.

KPERS: KPERS provides life insurance to full time and part time employees equal to 150% of average annual salary. Optional Group Life Insurance is also available through KPERS at a minimal cost to employees.

Long Term Disability:
KPERS provides this benefit that would begin once an employee has missed 180 consecutive days of work due to their own illness or injury.

Paid Time Off (PTO):
Paid time off accrual is based on the number of hours worked and years of service. The max amount of hours an employee's PTO account may have is 320 hours.

Eligibility: Full time and part time employees. PTO accrual begins immediately and may be used after 90 days of employment.

Extended Illness Leave (EIL):
EIL is leave time available for a personal illness or injury. Accrual is based on the number of hours worked. Employees may use EIL after 3 consecutive working days in the event of personal injury or illness. EIL may be used immediately in the event of hospitalization.

Eligibility: Full time and part time employees. EIL accrual begins immediately and may be used after 90 days of employment.
